Joseph Opinel began his knifemaking career in 1895 in the Savoie region of the French Alps. The local population of shepherds, farmers, and artisans were the first to put the knives to the test but by the 1940s over 200 million of the famous folding knife had been sold.
Today Opinel continues to develop new products which employ the same design principles and blade quality as the original Opinel knife. This set of six steak knives is one example. Each piece is hand finished with a natural solid Oak handle; the gentle curve of the handle is both ergonomic and elegant. Handwashing is recommended–with proper care these knives will last a lifetime. Made in France.
