The Museum of London’s free exhibition features 200 London street photos taken between 1860 and 2010. The first exhibition of its kind, London Street Photography gives a fascinating snapshot of the capital through time.
The photos on display range from sepia-toned images of horse-drawn carriages to pictures of 21st-century Londoners digitally caught on camera.
The show features the work of 59 London photographers including:
John Thomson who produced a ground-breaking survey called Street Life in London in 1877
Henry Grant who photographed London streets from the 1950s to the 1980s
Roger Mayne who sought to record a way of life as he photographed a rundown area of North Kensington before it was redeveloped in the 1960s
